The community had its beginnings in the ˜50s when a portion of the area was a penal farm!
Most of the cement block- houses, built in the ˜50s, are two and three-bedroom/ one- bath residences. Since we are less than one mile from the beach and downtown Fort Lauderdale, and near Interstate 95, the area became desirable for buyers, Rixon Rafter, president of the Lake Ridge Civic Association explains.
